Baylor is now leading the team in 3 major categories: points, rebounds and assists.

The last 2 games, he had 9 and 7 assists.

He also leads the team, of course, in three pointers made.

Really nice writeup in the OWH by Jon Walker about one of Baylor's most unlikely fans--a nine-year-old kid from Montana who will be at the game tomorrow.

https://omaha.com/sports/college/creighton/why-a-9-year-old-from-montana-is-swishing-free-throws-in-a-baylor-scheierman/article_6c6b73fa-bc58-11ee-9bed-1354c0a5035b.html#tracking-source=home-top-story

Here is a short excerpt:

And any time Jackson hits a 3, he kisses his fingers and holds them in the air. He has witnessed Scheierman, a career 39% shooter from deep, do that over and over. It’s the type of thing that made him change his number from 11 to 55.

“When he makes long shots, instead of yelling, ‘Kobe!’ or anything like that, he yells out ‘Baylor Scheierman,’” Andrew said.

But why?

What makes an 8-year-old decide to sit down at that moment and fall in love with that team and player? What kept him coming back more than a year later? Why on a team that also has Trey Alexander and Ryan Kalkbrenner, did Scheierman stand out?

“Because he breaks everybody’s ankles and knocks down, like, almost every 3 he takes,” Jackson said.

One of the best stories in the OWH that I have ever read.

Surprising that they even wrote a story about the Jays considering how the Huskers are going to win the Natty this year.

Much better reading than the last few writers for the OWH on the Jays.

The last few? Nyatawa was really good -- wasn't he just two ago (right before Joel)? And was there anyone between him and Pivovar?

Yes — I was commenting / responding to the statement that he is much better than “the last few” and trying to recall who that has been— Joel, Nyatawa, Piv — anyone else in there?

Well, Snacks McHusker occasionally drops a line or two about Creighton, maybe to cleanse the palate before he goes back to feeding at the corndog trough. So, maybe he means him.
