Regardless, the waiver process is a mess

So the NCAA wants to waste more of their money, all of which is EARNED BY THE PLAYERS, by denials that lead to big legal fees for them and the player they could have just accepted.

Burn the NCAA to the ground. Greedy and stupid hypocrites.

Oh Jesus Christ, grow up. You do realize that the NCAA is not run by some nebulous "deep state" cabal, but rather by a consortium of schools, including Creighton. The system is broken absolutely, But quit assigning nefarious intentions to an organization that has been left twisting in the wind by the college presidents, torn between an academic ideal and an embarrassment of riches (men's football and basketball). So take your whining to Hendrickson.

You took my tongue in cheek comments literally?

In seriousness, I thought it was funny you said "grow up," because I spent half my life (25+ years) thinking the NCAA was an awesome, perfect world, and would brag to people I met in other countries how "pure" our college athletics were compared to their "soiled" professional sports. I felt I "grew up" when I learned the history of amateurism and how it began with BOTH universities and the NCAA trying to get out of paying Workmans comp for players who were concussed, had broken bones, paralyzed or worse.

AI Generated Statistics:
Yes, people have died from playing college football, though fatalities are rare:
2021
The National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research (NCCSIR) reported 20 football-related deaths in 2021, including:
4 traumatic injury deaths
13 exertional/medical (indirect) deaths
3 non-football/non-exertion related deaths
Since 2000
33 NCAA football players have died, with 27 nontraumatic deaths and 6 traumatic deaths. On average, 2 NCAA football players die per season.
1931
40 players were fatally injured during the 1931 football season, which is thought to be the biggest number of deaths in the sport's history.
1905
The Chicago Tribune reported 18 deaths and 159 serious injuries directly attributed to football. This led to multiple colleges dropping the sport and President Theodore Roosevelt pushing for safety reforms.
Some say that reforms have not been enough to protect young players from the risks of football. These risks include: Brain trauma and Suspected heatstroke.
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

I don't know this random guy personally. However, I do know he is a big, long-time CU booster. IMO this would be a reliable post.

We already knew his eligibility got denied. He's on to the waiver process.

Typically an appeal takes two weeks, but there have been some rumors that it could go faster now that he is literally the only international guy left. Not saying it'll go fast in a better way, but that is certainly the hope for all of us.

No problem. Know of any good spots in Seattle for Jays fans? Know of a few people (including myself) that would like a group to watch with.

Hope it goes fast. I mean they have all the information they could want at this point don't see why it would take long other than the NCAA being the NCAA and dragging its feet. Would be huge to have him with Ashworth out.

No good CU bars in Seattle that I know of.

Please let me know if you hear of one or else one in San Diego as I split my winters.
