2013 SG Justin Edwards (Kansas State)

6'3'' scoring guard is leaving Maine after two very successful seasons with the black bears. Edwards is looking to test himself at a high level. This entire Creighton staff recruited Edwards very hard coming out of high school two seasons ago. Creighton was one of his top choices and are very much in play with him going forward.

He would sit out the 2013-2014 and have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Edwards is leaving Maine on good terms. He is an athletic guard who can get to the rim.

Interesting..Correct me if I am wrong but I think ISU was at their scholarship limit too.. They will need to "create" room for Edwards if he goes there.

yes, I think they Jays like him, but they have lots of transfer options they are pursuing, namely Eli Carter (lots of big schools in on him), Jabarie Hinds, Hunter Mickelson, Mclellan, Marcius...

If Doug is gone (big if) we need immediate help, not guys who have to sit a year. Iowa State was transfer U in Hoiberg's early years but they had 6 to 8 power conference level players on the team to start with so could afford to let kids sit a year. We don't have 6 to 8 power conference level players.

Now, it's likely there aren't that many PC guys available at this point. I have no answer for that.

I like this kid a lot. Legit scorer and can take it to the rack. Of the transfers that are giving us legitimate consideration, I think Edwards is the best. I know that we will need some immediate help, but I don't think we can pass on a proven athletic scorer like this kid either just because he would have to sit out a year.
