2021 Recruiter of the Year -RoY?

Postby gtmoBlue » Sat May 08, 2021 2:47 pm

Surprise! Bluejays Asst. Coach Alan Huss is in the running for RoY this year.
He was 9th and has moved up to 7th in 247's latest rankings.

If he pulls at least 1 more surprise, Huss can win this sucker. #RDJ

I’ve heard rumors that Huss was offered a position at Illinois. Anyone have anything else on this? Hope it’s not true but I’ve heard from a couple different people...

He's an up and coming guy for sure with a lot of great contacts in the US and abroad for talent, so I wouldn't be surprised. I think he's a person where the administration would want to make sure they spend the dollars to keep him around

Your sources have been pretty spot on recently, so I'm inclined to believe it.

Yikes. Just yikes. I thought we finally had some stability... what a gut punch.
What are the chances we lose current players or recruits?

It's also really disappointing that we'd lose an alum to a non-head coaching position.

To be fair, it’s tough to keep someone when the other job is offering to basically double your salary.

Money isn't everything and as Mac said earlier when he turned down the Ohio St job, you can't beat happy.
Let's hope Huss is happy at Creighton and thinks the same way, otherwise I wish him the best of luck.

Unfortunately, it’s a lot easier to say that when you are making more than a million a year then if you are making a couple of hundred grand. In any event, if he wants to get a head coaching job, adding a gig in the Big Ten to his resume will go a long way. That would be a really tough opportunity to pass up even if CU could come close in salary. But until it’s a done deal there is a chance.
