Jays interested in 6'1'' Wisconsin shooting star. Coaches have checked in on him during the NY2LA Sports Invitational.

LaChance was clutch down the stretch for Ray Allen Select. With his team down one, LaChance stole the ball at the top of the key and finished off the play with a transition layup after he was fouled. LaChance knocked in the free throw, which proved to be the game winning basket. The 6-1 guard finished with 23 points, connecting on five three-pointers.

LaChance continues what has been an outstanding tournament for him, going for 23 points in another blowout win for Ray Allen Select. LaChance was connecting on nearly everything Saturday night and often doing it against solid defense.

update from Swish n Dish

Day 1

The junior struggled to find the bottom of the net early but battled all game long before finding his stroke late in the second half. Ending up with 17 points, he scored two excellent baskets back-to-back late to give them a small lead, and then hit three super-clutch three-pointers in the OT’s.

Day 2

LaChance continued to shoot the ball well throughout the day, putting together two double digit scoring performances, including 18 points in a win over DTA. The junior got even better as the day wore on, scoring 24 points in a quarterfinal win over the Iowa Barnstormers.

Day 3

LaChance was outstanding in a quarterfinal loss to Meanstreets. With the opposition hounding his every step, LaChance picked his spots nicely and shot a high percentage from the field. The junior scored 20 scored points, including a quick 5-point spurt late that nearly gave Ray Allen Select the win.

Can't think of why we don't have an offer out for this kid. Top 100 with no real big offers, seems like he's built for our system.

This is only a guess, but this could be a case of a recruit just being well-liked or well-scouted by ESPN. Perhaps LeChance just happened to be at a lot of tourneys with ESPN guys there as well. I'd much rather get Leon Gilmore (4 star, 80) who has offers from OU, Okie State, T A&M, and Baylor, than LeChance who's only seeing mid major schools offer. Most times a kid only has mid major offers, or he has upper-mid major to high major offers. And there's a reason for that

Might also be that he is 6'1. We have a good 6'1 shooting guard already in ZIerdan. We need taller more athletic guys.

Also has offers from Missouri, Butler, Utah and Okie State. Based on some of the articles, looks like he might play better as a PG, maybe that's why we offered and are going after him.
