Exactly. It seems like we're in a good position with Gilmore, but the complete lack of news makes it tough to know (thank you to Gilmore's mom for providing some feedback to us fans). As with all of our targets, it's partially a result of the existing Creighton hoops news sources. (W&BR is the best for what it is, but those guys have full-time non-Creighton gigs. I like the fact that Bluejay Report exists, and hope the coverage continues to expand. But now, it's pretty fledgling. Until Matt goes, Rivals is about what you'd expect from a completely self-centered New England-based radio guy. Pivovar's great, but his understandable feelings about recruiting means that unlike what the fans of a lot of other college basketball teams can expect, Creighton's local paper provides essentially no recruiting news until someone verbals or signs. Even Barfknecht puts out some UNL hoops recruiting pieces these days, although maybe some of it is related to what different staffs divulge.)
Some of the other programs that have been interested in Gilmore generally have more recruiting reporting/speculation than Creighton does. The fact that very little is out there suggests that Creighton may be in the lead and/or his mom and him are doing a very nice job of keeping some of these third parties out of the picture.
Anyway, I believe that the staff can hit the recruiting trail starting next Monday, so I'm assuming that unless there are major developments in the next couple of days, trips will soon be made to the greater metro areas of Houston, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Milwaukee, Charlotte, and presumably some other spots to check in on our 2014 and 2015 targets.
Sort of related is this piece that I read yesterday:
