Also according to RJ, Creighton is no longer connected to Alex Illikainen as they have picked up someone else and are full in the front court. This is huge news as many believed Creighton was our biggest competition for AI.

There has been absolutely NO INDICATION that Creighton has let up on recruiting Alex. Get lost, Troll.

This is the same poster that said that Alex was headed to Nebraska earlier, right? Might be time for a banning.

I think his concerns would be better situated with why Nebraska can't fill any of its open spots.

Troll or not, that indeed is what was posted on Gopherhole and apparently said by Ryan James. Eric Bossi alluded to the same thing during his Bluejay Banter interview (and Mac started this week in Philadelphia, not Chicago). If all of that is true, I guess we assume that the staff (a) has a lot of faith in Patton, Hanson, and maybe some other 2015 or 2016 recruits, and/or (b) was/is very concerned that Illikainen is a strong Minnesota lean, and thus likes their chances elsewhere.

All I and most of us have are rankings, a few tweets and articles by recruiting "experts", and some mixtapes. Unless the team struggles for a good while to win at a high rate without Doug, I'll trust that the staff is putting together the best team possible. Yes, with my limited knowledge of the 2015 class and our prospects, I’m surprised that we jumped on Patton when we did, and even more surprised that we could end up using 2 of our 4 scholarships on him and another off-the-radar Omaha product. But given what happened with Yates, Johnson, Harris, Norton, and Talbert, not to mention what appears to have happened with some other kids we’ve been recruiting in ‘14 and ‘15, the staff clearly has a vision of who can and cannot compete well in the Big East. That's the same staff that finished 2nd last year (after 2 strong final MVC years), made it to the conference final, and also saw our struggles in games like the Georgetown or Providence road games or the Baylor debacle.

I also remember some of the concerns people were expressing on here a year ago, well before Gilmore, then Harrell, then Watson, then Huff, then a walkon Kreklow.

Of course, all of this could be message board nonsense and bad information or misinterpretation.

Would you clarify/elaborate for those of us out-of-staters, and not privy to insider scoop?

But given what happened to: blah, blah, not to mention what appears to have happened with some other kids we’ve been recruiting in ‘14 and ‘15, the staff clearly has a vision of who can and cannot compete well in the Big East.

Two posts and I've already been called a name and the suggestion of being banned. I've only commented on things I hear around the gym. Ryan James stated the same on this podcast. Lastly, I feel Creighton was top on his list going into the Spring AAU season. If you review some of his interviews, CU was always mentioned first.

I think everyone owes an apology to jayfan.

By the way, how in the hell has "jayfan" not been taken on this board before a few weeks ago?
