Never mind.

just checked in on Piv's weekly chat (http://www.omaha.com/creighton/bluejay- ... 3d2f1.html), and saw this:

"They brought two recruits in. Each is being recruited and has offers from a number of other schools. If, ultimately, one or two of the players decide Creighton is the place for them, then something will have to be done in terms of deciding which 13 guys you give scholarship to. That could mean a departure or two, it could mean, as you suggest, someone decides to pay his own way for a year. I have ideas, based on conversations, what ways they MIGHT go. But to toss those out now, when they only have 13 players, would not be fair to those 13 players. To answer your last question, at this point, they believe all four of the players that already have committed will be here and ready to play."

and this:

"I talk to all members of the staff on a regular basis. I do have a pretty good idea about possible ways they might go if they suddenly find themselves with a surplus of players. And, as I stated before, I don't think it's fair to the individual players to speculate about their status at this time, when there is no surplus. Social media does a pretty good job of doing that now. To answer one of your question, I don't sense that any players are "playing scared" as I watched them at this week's two workouts. But, it's safe to say, what they do in these workouts will be part of the evaluation process that MIGHT need to be done if CU finds itself with a surplus of players."

It was extremely hard and I have no knowledge nor am I predicting or endorsing having any of our current players leave because they are all great people.

I agree with most of what your post said. It's tricky because in the past there's usually been a guy or two that appear to be likely candidates to leave. In my mind the most likely candidates are (in order): Hanson, Groselle

Why would Groeselle leave? he has worked for four years and battled through leg injuries to get to where he got at the end of this year. Now, after finally seeing all of the hard work, sweat and tears starting to pay off, you just up and call it a career? I can't imagine him doing that. And certainly Mac isn't going to show his best post the door in order to bring in a JUCO wing.

+1. not mean spirited, but really we might as well wait til its done and then we will ALL know within 5-10 minutes of each other when a recruit is coming or someone is leaving. It should be interesting. How about more film on Krampel?

I really do hate this time of year but I guess I am following the "gossip" so I guess I am guilty. Honest opinion -- All of the 13 scholarship players right now have both the ability and the drive to be good, contributing Big East caliber players.

if a player/s does not return it may be his choice and not the coach not renewing his scholarship.

We most likely will never know which it is in each case.
