Went to Josiah's signing day celebration at Abide. He and Josh are planning to do a podcast together.

Josiah was awesome on Saturday in Grand Island as Bellevue West beat Bishop Walsh (MD) at the Heartland Hoops Classic. Bishop Walsh isn't as talented as Sunrise Christian, Oak Hill, IMG, etc. that have come for the event in the past, but it's still a member of the NIBC and has an LSU signee in Mike Williams III (4-star on 247, 3-star on Rivals) plus another talented guard and plenty of size.

I recapped the game here: https://hailvarsity.com/more-sports/2023-heartland-hoops-classic-roundup/.

Josiah finished with a career-high 30 points on 10-16 FG (8-9 2FG, 2-7 3FG) and 8-10 FT, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 turnovers, 3 steals and 1 block. Didn't shoot it great from deep but got to the rim at will and made some really heady cuts for clutch buckets in the fourth quarter.

Williams ended up with 34. That back-and-forth was really fun to watch. Bellevue West remains unbeaten.

How is his defense? We all know you won’t see the floor much with Mac until you learn how to guard.

He doesn't have Shereef's absurd lateral quickness (few do), but he's pretty good at pressuring the ball and has more length. He has pretty good hands as well and good anticipation to pick pockets or shoot passing lanes. Bellevue West is the best defensive team in the start and he's obviously part of that.

Not sure if this is the place to put this, because Josh and Jonesy are so good to listen to, even before Josiah gets on. So lucky to have great people associated with the program.

Josh tells how hard it was after his injury to overhear a booster say it he couldn't wait for him to graduate.

What a phenomenal conversation, Josh is an all time great Jay. We’re so lucky to have him in the community.

Excited to see what Josiah can bring to the team next year.

It's 9 - 2 at the end of the 1st qtr. Some pretty bad basketball so far. 2 made FGs combined, none by MN.
