would look pretty attractive to a player with Bowen's skillset.
That is a beautiful group of 11 players and while I would love to add a true top 20 type of player like Tugs to the lineup, he'll look a bit like what we already have.
In that group we have a ton of guards / wings in the 6'3" to 6'7" range unlike anything we've ever seen here.
For the team listed above, in my eyes, it breaks down like this:
PG - a couple of good point guards with size that should be able to hold there own against anybody in the big east
Kaleb Joseph (Jr.)
Davion Mintz (So.)
SG / SF - I lump these guys together as they're often interchangeable assuming they can defend their position. A wealth of talent to choose from.
Marcus Foster (Sr.)
Khyri Thomas (Jr.)
Ronnie Harrell (Jr.)
Mitch Ballock (Fr.)
Ty'shon Alexander (Fr.)
Davion could fit in here as well
PF - here is where I think we're missing a piece. I will grant you that I don't know enough about Martin after having lost him to injury last season.
Toby Hegner (Sr.)
Martin Krampelj (So.)
Hunter Thompson (Fr.)
I also know we could play Ronnie here in stretches, but that's asking alot for a guy his height / weight (and yes, I understand he'll fill out a bit)
C - if Justin stays healthy through the entire season, we should be fine here, but this spot makes me a bit nervous as well when Patton has to go to the bench.
Justin Patton (So.)
Toby could slide in here in for stretches
Hunter might be able to slide in here as well
For me, I'd prefer we find a good big to add to the PF / C grouping that could give us a few more options there. Injuries have seemed to play a big part for us, especially along the front line. Last year, Toby and Zach both played hurt and Martin was lost for the season.
The team, as currently configured, looks like a conference championship team on the perimeter with 7 guys above 6'3" that can shoot, score and defend. Mac has really outdone himself there. If we stay healthy along the front line and Patton lives up to the hype, we certainly look very strong on the front line as well.
Mac has done an outstanding job of re-making the roster to fit the Big East and compete nationally, so he's earned my trust that he's thought about the above. But for my money, I'd see if we could entice a beast of a big guy to come in for 2017 that could man the PF / C spots in a pinch and improve our depth there.
All that being said, this lineup is 2 years away, who knows how all these guys will develop. It should be fun to watch though.
