I would think so. Especially if we want to get a high quality transfer, too.
Then again, if both are willing to commit, why wouldn't you take them? Makes me glad that I'm not a coach...

I just can't pinpoint two likely transfers on the current roster. Unless the coaching staff believes one of the current commits will be an academic casualty. It will be interesting to see what happens.

How many guys do expect to see transfer from Carl Miles'....err Tim Miles' roster?

If a Husker fan can come here and ask about our transfers, it seems reasonable to ask if he expects transfers from his own team's roster since he is here and all...

Feel free to message me if you so choose. I'd like to keep this discussion about the likelihood of Trent committing. No need for you to derail another discussion.

But this isn't a Huskers transfers thread. We are having a discussion about potential transfers from the Creighton basketball program. I don't know why everything has to be about the husker basketball program. Take that dustup to the OT board, before another thread on here gets derailed into madness

+1. Why should we care who transfers from UNL? Unless you're indicating we'd go after some of them, but I think not. Anyways, I was trying to think last night IF we had guys that needed to leave the program or transfer because of new upcoming commitments, who would they be? It was extremely hard and I have no knowledge nor am I predicting or endorsing having any of our current players leave because they are all great people. But, could think of 5, maybe 6 that you could make a case for but all very unlikely. First, Geoff. Only because he has graduated and maybe he wants to continue his education without basketball. But, he established himself as our best post and he is slotted to be the go-to post next year so it's unlikely. 2nd, Hanson. I say this because I could maybe see a conversation happening between he and Coach Mac about how he hasn't progressed and its maybe not the right fit for him. 3, Isaiah. Obviously, this is because of injury and maybe he just can't get his body back up to playing shape. I hope that's not the case. Don't crucify me for this, but maybe Milliken just because of past issues. Also, very unlikely because he was our best player at the end of the year and it seems like he's gotten his act together. Lastly, Leon and Ronnie. Both are young, and maybe they don't see a role they like here at Creighton. It's hard for me to see those guys leaving as well especially after hearing Coach Macs post game speech about Will and Avery, and he stated Ronnie and Leon can never come to him about getting a raw deal or playing time, because Will and Avery were perfect examples of staying with it. Also, maybe one of our incoming freshmen has a problem we don't know about. Anyways, in no way was I speculating who I think will be gone because of any info I have, and I certainly wasn't endorsing it. All of those guys are great young men that have nice potential as basketball players at Creighton. They were just the only possibilities that came into my mind. It'll be very interesting to see what happens. We have Mulder and Trent visiting this weekend and I really have a feeling one of those two will commit. Also, we had a great relationship with Marcus Foster in highschool. The Jays and K-State were the two schools who remained loyal to him. I have no idea if we've inquired or our coaching staff still wants him, but I'd have to imagine if he wanted to come here we'd take him. It'll be very interesting to see how this shakes out. Go Jays

Therein lies the problem. In Trent's thread, the discussion should be bout Trent. 1620, as he is wont to do, was trying to change the discussion from Trent to a discussion on how many guys will transfer. If that is the topic, to follow your logic, how about putting that in its own thread?

How so?
If Trent is going to be on scholarship, someone has to go. Mychal Mulder is also visiting this weekend. It is possible (but not likely) that both could commit. Lest we forget that transfer season is beginning, too. Thus talking about how many will transfer is fair game.

I agree with most of what your post said. It's tricky because in the past there's usually been a guy or two that appear to be likely candidates to leave. In my mind the most likely candidates are (in order): Hanson, Groselle, Zierden, Milliken. If one of the two bigs leave, that tells me the coaches are confident in Justin's ability to contribute from the get go, OR they are confident Hegner can give them solid minutes at the 5. If one of the two guards leave, well that just means they have faith in whoever they are bringing in over the next couple weeks. There really aren't any guys on the team right now that I want to see transfer, but the coaches get paid to make the tough decisions, and it appears they will do whatever it takes to continue upgrading talent on the roster

Jaysker12, If we sign 2, highly doubtful our 2 returning 5's would be gone. That would leave a incoming freshman with 0 backup at the 5.
