You don’t know that. Maybe his dream is to make the SS or FF. If we get a guard like Nike no doubt he will get playing time.

Keep telling yourself that. Guys who are happy to go sit on a bench and watch a team make are guys like Manny. That ain’t happening for a grad transfer capable of playing substantial minutes on a decent team.

You do realize you just said this he’s not coming here to sit the bench. Then you said he’s capable of substantial minutes.

We are officially thin at the traditional 2-guard. A really good player can come in here and grab serious minutes at this point on a Top 10 team. How many other teams can offer that to a one and done player?

Jays definitely need to get Z’s and Ballock’s minutes down in the low 30’s from the high 30’s to sustain the entire season. Jones, DJ and Mahoney fill the beefy 3, small ball 4 spot with spot minutes at the 2. Bishop and Epp get the up front minutes and hopefully Kalk can contribute too although he is crazy thin. I am not expecting any freshman in any year to come in and set the world on fire.

Z, 32 minutes
MB, 32 minutes
DM, 25 minutes
AJ, 25 minutes
DJ, 25 minutes
CB, 22 minutes
JE, 18 minutes
SM, 12 minutes
RK, 12 minutes
MK, redshirt
Stud Grad transfer 2-guard, 25 minutes

Some games we’ll go bigger and some smaller so minutes obviously fluctuate. Huge games against elite teams see Z and MB rarely sitting.

Hmmmmmm, you watch this and tell me what you think?

Stretch 4/5 that can handle. His shot is slow but he still shot 45% from 3 (only attempted 1.8 per) but a year off on this team could fix that. He rebounds very well and is good defensively. Ceiling is what I’m looking at and it’s high high high.

Final four is Baylor, Arkansas, Kentucky and Memphis.

I'll take the over on those minutes averages for Zegarowski, Ballock, Mahoney and Jefferson for sure. Maybe a slight minutes reduction would benefit the team overall, but that comes from winning big in the nonconference and against the bottom teams in the league. You're going to player your best players heavy minutes against good teams. I mean, Creighton just showed "Jays definitely need to get Z’s and Ballock’s minutes down in the low 30’s from the high 30’s to sustain the entire season" isn't true, and they only had Mahoney for 2/3 of the season this year. Mitch isn't coming off the floor this year if a game is in doubt outside of maybe a brief breather around a media timeout, and I bet he wouldn't have it any other way.

Devon Dotson, Tre Jones and Anthony Cowan all played around 35 MPG. Payton Pritchard was close to 37 MPG. Saddiq Bey and Collin Gillespie were at ~34 each with all five Nova starters basically playing 30+. Cassius Winston, Malachi Flynn, Markus Howard and Jordan Nwora all played ~33 MPG each.

I just don't see anybody new "grabbing serious minutes" unless there's an injury, which isn't really something you can sell to a recruit right now.

Mooney started for Texas Tech, played 31 MPG and averaged double figures. Creighton's not getting that, nor does it need it.

Can’t argue with that since getting a stud 2-guard grad transfer is Unlikely. Bump up the top guys on my list by 3-5 minutes each and we’re exactly aligned.

I’ll stand by my, ‘they would benefit from a few minutes less per game this year’ followed by “Huge games against elite teams see Z and MB rarely sitting”.

I think we’d benefit greatly having a guy with the IQ, experience and skill of Mooney. It’s hard to believe the backcourt is getting better without Ty-Shon and adding Antwann. I hope Antwann is great but if he’s average or if one of our guards go down
