His dunks remind me of Brody Deren. He looks a lot like Brody but a step faster and few inches taller
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Hard to tell just looking at hi-lite vids, but there seems to be a fire in this guy. Seems like he has untapped potential and our coaches, our style of playing, could reach and mine that potential play. I am of the opinion that we got a diamond in Kelvin Jones!

I would love if he had Brody's ability but I am not going to count on it.

Good get. I'm still skeptical about whether he can really contribute at this level - but he's definitely a better fit for what we're wanting to do than Manny was since he can run the floor well. Another plus is that he finishes strong at the rim. You have to appreciate a big that just slams it home rather than lays it up (see Artino, Will).
At the very least he's another post player that we really needed and probably the best option left on the market besides Blackshear.

if he doesn't jack ridiculous threes, runs the floor, plays even a little bit of defense, and rebounds - then he'll exceed the Suarez era.

Groselle had nice touch from about 12 feet in and understood his game and role - I think KJ can be similar.

Is Alan Huss becoming a Recruiting Closer for us?

"Right from the beginning Coach Huss gave me a phone call — I’ve been on the phone with a lot of coaches for the past month or so, and I can tell you right off the bat that I have never been so excited after talking to coach and hearing his spiel about the campus and their situation,” Jones said. “Right from the get go I was excited to go check it out. That was just talking on the phone. Once we went to check it out it was a whole other deal seeing that place, getting to walk in and see what these guys get to help them get better. They have everything they need to get better — coaching, and the new strength coach that’s coming in this year is awesome."

Really high praise coming from Jones in the interview

Without Manny Suarez, Creighton loses 2 more games his year at Creighton. Manny was underrated, as he did help the team.
I do hope and think KJ exceeds what Manny did. Should be a great year for the Jays.
