what's the highest we've been in the mvc?

If I checked right, Creighton was ranked 78 in 2011. We had 1 recruit that year Dingman.

Dingman, Chatman, Groselle and Nevin Johnson were all in the same class.

I was just referring to what recruits 247 Sports had on its website.

With today’s pickup by Xavier, there are now 4 Big East teams in the top 15 of the 247 team rankings for 2014. We are 8th in the conference, barely behind #7 Butler. DePaul only has 1 verbal commit right now, and St. John’s has no one. I’m very excited about Harrell and Gilmore, but we need a strong 3rd member of our class. Then, after this sort of baby step of a year (more than a baby step, if we are still pursuing and can land Cunningham), we need to really make some recruiting noise with the 2015 class. It probably goes without saying, but if Chatman, Artino, Dingman, Milliken, Brooks and all of the younger guys make big strides this year, I think our first year without Doug will be a respectable rebuilding year. If next year’s class is closer to a top 25 nationally range, I like the chances of the Coach Mac era strongly moving forward.

All of the new stuff (league, logo, video board, court, etc.) is great. The season ticket numbers, individual ticket sales and conference tournament sales numbers are pretty incredible. This season will be memorable. So were the past two. But, for the future to be as exciting, our 2015 recruiting needs to look more like the 3/5ths of our league currently in the top 30 of the 2014 rankings. And, a solid addition to this 2014 class would help, too.

Agree, Xavier is definitely taking advantage of being in the Big East. They are killin it on the recruiting trail. Gilmore and Harrell are a great start, we need to get Cunningham (assuming we are still after him)!

Yep, at the start of September, Xavier had shown no obvious signs of adjusting faster than Creighton and Butler. Four commits later, and Chris Mack has to be liking his chances of bringing that program back to its pre-2012 level soon. Of course, Xavier's been recruiting at a high level for awhile, so it's not as though Butler or Creighton has ever been its recruiting peer.

I thought about that yesterday as well, although if you look position wise, JP is a "SG" while Bluiett is a "SF." Don't know who Xavier has regarding positions on their current team but their 5 2014 commits are a PG, SG, SF, PF and C.

Verbal Commits has Xavier listed with 5 verbal commits for 2014 with 3 scholarships to give that year. I'm not sure what happens in such cases.
