They’re sickos that are addicted to the process so probably not. Awesome that he’s still letting us visit fresh off a visit to Indiana.

Edit: I’m seeing tweets that he’s visiting Florida so the 247 information may be incorrect.

Hope McVey is on campus or we are getting him on campus. I'd love to get Riebe, but we need a big in this class and McVey's got a very nice game that fits well with our style (runs the floor, has nice feet, can play D, and even has a nice shot and developing offensive game from what I see in clips

I think Green has some abilities that would work well for playing a small 5 role (bigger and longer than Bishop), but I'm pretty sure that we don't want to go without a big on the roster

We will still have Fred.

for one year after Kalk graduates, and Fred has yet to show that he can be a reliable 5 in the Big East and even took a step back in Big East play last year. He definitely has potential, but we will need to see a lot more from him this year to be able to count on him as a starter

No offense to Big Fred, but there's a reason he's back in Omaha after entering the transfer portal.

After a player enters the transfer portal, the school no longer has an obligation to bring that player back. So, my logic tells me that the reason that Fred is back is because the coaching staff wanted him back.

If someone knows something different, please share.

I was more referring to the fact that he wasn't exactly a hot commodity in the portal. Even as a big. He is a valued asset to our team as he knows the system after being in it for 3 years now. Based on what he's shown, though, he is not anywhere close to getting Kalk-like minutes after this year.

Well with Big Ryan back for a 5th season, Fred is 'guaranteed' his 6 mpg. He probably should have stayed in the portal and gone to a midmajor. At least he'd get to play at that level.

Agreed - Fred wouldn't be back in a Jays uni unless Mac & Co wanted him back. Poor kid probably thought he'd at least get to play in front of family this season...then we bolted for the Players Festival in Vegas. lol If he's smart he'll re-enter the portal next spring and go to a school that will appreciate him. Chances are he'll get leapfrogged by whichever 'big' we land for 2025.

In the meantimes, he'll get a littany of sideways remarks, backhanded complements, and downright denigration by our 'loyal fans'.

It made sense for both sides. He didn't find an opportunity more appealing to him than what he has at Creighton and Creighton also didn't find a replacement during the time he was in the portal. He's been a good teammate while he's in Omaha and Creighton needs another big man aside from Kalkbrenner for practice and injury issues if nothing else. He still has to improve a lot if he wants to player a larger role for Creighton than we've seen thus far.
