Following his visits to Kansas State, Iowa State and Creighton this week, Grill may take an official visit to UNLV, where Otzelberger has moved. That visit would need to come around dead periods between April 11-14 or April 19-25. If everything falls into order, Grill could make a decision by month’s end. ;)

Reading this article makes it sound he is a heavy lean to Iowa State as they will need guards next year, and he wants to play significant minutes right away, not wait to play major minutes his junior year. How do we sell him on coming here? How can we promise significant minutes freshman year? I would love for us to get this guy, but I think we have too many guards for his liking.

Why would he ever think that when our roster is almost all 6’5” and under? Although, at 6’3” and bouncey, Mac may put him at the 4.

gonna respectfully disagree, CU runs 4 guards and it's highly unlikely that he would be waiting until his junior year to play. he would probably get cashaw-esque minutes his freshman year, but then mintz graduates, and it's up for grabs.

I would agree he gets Cashaw type minutes his freshman year, but that was about 11 minutes a game. I think this kid is thinking more minutes per game to start, in a confident way of course. Our top 4 minutes per game guys are all guards and all coming back - Z, Tyshon, Ballock and Mintz. And then we have Mahoney playing guard minutes as an expected good player who will get major minutes, and he has been with the team for a year. I just don’t see many minutes for a freshman guard next year, unless we play a lot of small ball.

Must agree. Kids today want to play right away so any guards looking at CU aren’t going to see opportunity like forward recruits can see opportunity for immediate play. Trouble is there are LOTS of teams needing forwards in the spring and few good ones available. Sam wasn’t a world beater but he was a serviceable 7 footer. Jays need Enaruna, a grad transfer forward and then the best available for the third open spot.

The chances of CU entering next season with a full roster of scholarship players are lower than a snail’s belly. Jordan Scurry came along at the right time in CU history. Congrats to him.
