Hell, why would several top stars be suddenly going to freakin Howard ? A hunch is that guaranteed full playing time has become the end all !

Maybe they are local kids. It should be noted that DePaul has a new AD, and has made a commitment by building a new stadium (Wintrust at McCormick Place).

From a DePaul fan on HLOH (notably #2):

I think they've got a couple of things going for them at the moment.

1. Facilities - Wintrust Arena is a huge step forward for the program. It's first class in nearly every way. And if the few times it's come close to being filled, the place rocks.

2. Player Development - Assistant Coach Tim Anderson is worth every dollar DePaul is paying him, and then some. For those who don't know, Anderson is one of the best basketball trainers in the country. His company's website claims that he's trained upwards of 60 NBA players, including the likes of Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose, and Jabari Parker. You better believe that part of DePaul's pitch to kids right now is that pros pay thousands of dollars to work with Anderson during the summer, and that if they come to DePaul, they'll get him every day in practice for free. And now they can point to the likes of Max Strus and Paul Reed as guys that nobody wanted who they put in the NBA.

3. Opportunity - It's the only good part about finishing last. You get to sell kids on the idea that they have a realistic chance to play right away. "Yeah, other schools will help you improve as well, but realistically, you're not going to play as much there as you would at DePaul."

With Nembhard and Christofilis in the fold now, it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the class shapes up.

Sallis
DeVries
Ty-Ty Washington
Mason Miller

Is there anyone else we’re on hot? Christofilis came out out of nowhere, so I guess that could happen again.

Assuming we can get 2 of those 4 I think you are happy no matter what. Honestly if we got 2 of those 4 I wouldn't mind if it wasn't Sallis. Assuming he is a 1 and done it might actually be better to get one of those other guys long term. Not saying I wouldn't love to have Hunter even for a year, but I would be ECSTATIC about a class that included Nembhard, JC, and then 2 of those 4. Would have to rank in the Top 25 nationally, maybe even Top 10. Heck, if we only get 1 and somehow keep Z around for a 4th year that would be awesome too!!! The future is bright! That would give the Jays a guy just outside the Top 200 in JC, just outside the Top 100 in Nembhard, and then those 4 remaining are all basically Top 100 dudes with DeVries currently sitting at 103 on 247. I remember when we were excited to be on the radar of a Top 100 guy, let alone having a legitimate shot of landing multiple Top 100s in a single class. Mac and staff get dumped on a lot for just missing in recruiting (I've done my share in the past), but this staff really is doing a great job on that front.

Were still in Blake Wesley’s top 12 even though he’s a Notre Dame lean

If Z goes pro then CU would have five openings for this fall and spring. However, this staff has shown a desire to keep one ride in their hip pocket.

I too would take any two of the four at this point.

LJay I was about to ask where the other one is coming from as I only counted 3 seniors that would be gone (MB, DJ, DM) and then most likely Z, but we have one open now don't we? In that case.....LET'S GET 3 OF THE 4!!!! Right GTMO?!?!

Counting the 2 verbals and Z, Creighton has 2 spots open for 2021 as there are 11 scholarships already spoken for.
I do think it is possible to sign 3 Recruits but that would mean someone has to leave.
