moo u fans are hilarious.

they think that getting guys like royce white is the norm for them. it's not. he never would have sniffed the stank of ames had he not been run out of minny and had such a horrific reputation that just about no one was interested in him at that point. credit to the kid for working hard and keeping his nose clean...

uthoff is still a top 100 kid from a year ago - that has some great skills - and still needs to develop. again - not a kid that typically signs to be a cyclone.

some folks just don't get their place in the universe.

we'd be lucky to have a kid like JU - and so would ISU.

And not that it really matters, but I honestly think playing in the Valley would be such a better fit for JU. If you are playing the 3 position in the Big 12 you need to be able to create your own shot, he does not look like a guy that can create his own shot. He would fit in Creighton's offense in a Doug type role way more. I think he has a chance to have a good career and really develop at Creighton whereas at Iowa State I don't think he would ever reach his potential and would have a tough time differentiating himself.

From his comments about what McDermott told him, he would be more of a 4 at Creighton and we would be using him similar to how we use Doug - meaning getting fed in the post, not getting him the ball at the top of the key and telling him to go score by beating people off the dribble or creating their own shot on the perimeter.

Uthoff is going to visit Marquette next and then possibly Florida. This might be awhile...

Interesting in that Uthoff also apparently had a visit to Iowa over the weekend without committing. I also liked how when pressed by an Iowa State writer about whether his visit to Iowa State was better than his visit to Creighton, Uthoff wouldn't answer.

Going to Marquette would be the ultimate FU to Bo Ryan I suppose. I did see one Marquette writer say that it would never happen though, so there is that. With the Lockett signing, I don't know whether Marquette has any open scholarships, but they have shown an ability to create one when needed.

Florida would be interesting. If one of the reasons for the transfer from Wisconsin really was a desire to be close to home as was verbalized in at least one account, Florida wouldn't exactly fit the bill.

I'm more optimistic then I was a week ago. If he has visited both Iowa schools and hasn't pulled the trigger, maybe there was something about his visit here that he really liked?
"But I truly care about Creighton and the fans and what they've done for me the last three years. I want to give them one more year and take care of business in the Big East so we can prove people wrong.'' ---- Doug McDermott

Marquette didn't have any open scholarships to give Lockett. They took one away from another kid to get Lockett, but who's to say they wouldn't do it for Uthoff? That being said, I watch Marquette a lot because I lived in Milwaukee growing up, there's no way he'd fit into the Marquette system at all.

I could see him fitting in at Florida though.

Marquette has one new open scholie due to another (Jumail Jones transferred out) defection. They have a spot open, should Jarod
decide to attend.
