Depending on which ratings board you choose (Scout, ESPN, 247, Rivals - am I leaving anyone out?) the Jays have between 8 -14 top 100 / 150 type recruits on their rather large list (27-30 or so recruit candidates). The technique/pattern is the "cast the large net" which is typical of the big 6 schools, exemplified by local recruiting rival "Moo U".

I too am surprised by a few kids commiting without visits to their school of choice, but not so regarding kids choosing either locally (Mike Wms) or regionally (Casey Benson). Coach has cast a large net - we will meet our quota. There are many great recruits left on CU's list - be patient. There is no need for alarm as it is still very early in the annual recruiting process.

I should be pissed, as we have a tiny chance at any of my Fav's on the 2014 lists. We have a great staff - working hard - Devries, Lutz, and Sellers - will get'er done. Patience please, the Jays will get the guys we need and want.

They're going to have to either really hone in on Nairns or go for a different PG target...from the looks of things, both Perkins and Cohen are pretty out of our recruiting picture. This class needs an impact PG, because after next season we won't have any primary ballhandlers on the roster.

I don't like agreeing with gtmo but I have to on this one. It is a marathon, not a sprint. More information makes the misses hurt more but lets wait and see where we sit at the end of the summer before he get hyper concerned. We were late to many our targets because of the new conference shift and our previous commits.

I think the biggest reason to not jump off a bridge is the fact that we're all passengers. Us getting extremely worked up makes no difference.

That said, offering a scholarship is like asking someone out on a date. It makes no difference how many people are on OUR list in the top 150, it's the number of people who have us on their list. And those numbers don't look all that hot from what I can tell.

My biggest hope right now is that we're very, very prepared when it comes to the 'less heralded' tier.

sort of related, and not surprising, except for maybe how poorly Seton Hall's recent recruiting looks in the charts (one of which has a misspelled title):

Thanks BB, another great find.
We've definitely got loads of work ahead in recruiting. Another point (the article) as to why 2014 and 2015 are crucial recruiting-wise to the program going forward.

New 2014 plan.

How about we just go for the package deal with Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor.

Have HS recruits done this sort of thing before?

It sounds more like the NBA free agent market.

Didn't Lil Romeo tag along with DeMar DeRozan at USC? (before getting cut or quitting or whatever anyway)
