Excellent additional points by AA, TBJ, cujaysfan, and FreddyMac. Thanks.

A spring pickup may be unavoidable this year. We shall see. I was merely offering some options.

(if one says - "get the best available" - criticism. if one says - "recruiting 4 stars is difficult" - criticism.
I understand that it is fashionable to ride ol' 'git'... I break out the XL jockstrap this time of the year

KY Intense gel to the Saluki's and Shockers. That BB, he's a Real piece of work (s_ _ t). :P

Not quite sure what I said that warranted that response from such a generally positive poster. Anyway, I (and I dare say, most people on this board and prior boards) frequently disagree with your recruiting assessments, as they often do not seem based on reality. But, I agree with your hopes. No offense intended.

So it's next weekend that our two top recruits on the board visit. Sure hope we get a commit. Go Jays!

FreddyMac wrote:It sucks to lose Foster but we're still in absolutely great shape in recruiting. We got three kids that we really wanted and with the "extra" scholarship we can go for the elite guys or not go for anyone at all. To me John Dawson still looks good and Shirmane Thomas is still on the table and frankly if WSU wants him badly then that's good enough for me because they recruit athletes and that's what we need with this last scholarship. If everything falls through this fall then see if an awesome JUCO, late qualifier, or big time transfer falls into our lap in the spring then take it and if not then just move on to next year.

This is where I am at. I like both Dawson and Thomas as athletes and players. I suspect Dawson has more of a defined "role" right now as a PG, but he can also be a combo guy. Thomas might be more potential now because he could turn into a scoring PG/combo and may have a bit more length and defensive flexibility than Thomas IMO.

As you said, WsU doesn't go after guys who can't get out and compete athletically - and Thomas definitely has the athleticism to compete with anyone. But Dawson looks to be the kind of talent who can develop into a big time PG. So I'm torn as to which one would be the best fit, but think both would be a good addition to the roster.

Well were in a little holding pattern here. There are lots of guards out there we just need to find one who wants to be a Jay not one who needs to be begged to be a Jay.

OK so we had some bad luck so what happens now. Maybe we look around to see who's all still on the board and target a visit for 12 and the open house?

Lots of value in the 2014 class!

- Riley LeChance
- Trey Dilworth
- Tre'Shawn Thurman
- Ricky Doyle
- Casey Schlatter
- Nate Gehring
- Riley Glassman
- Andre Wallace
- Kyle Haber
- Goran Huskic
- Khadre Lane
- Corey Henderson
- TJ Schlundt
- Tyrone Taylor

I say we go hard after one of our top target on this list to join Nick and Ezra
