Pretty hard to sell playing time to the 2019 class unless you are a stretch 4 type like Enaruna. 2020 class will be a little easier to sell playing time to guards.
That is true with some players but immediate playing time is usually not discussed as teams already have returning starters. Style of play and how recruits fit into the program are what is usually discussed to recruits. Some coaches will never talk about playing time or telling a recruit they will start their first year. There are also some recruits that that don't mind redshirting as it gives them one more year of free schooling towards their masters. That's like the school giving you an extra $80,000.
Honestly, don't remember the last freshman that we recruited that redshirted. Patton? Doesn't seem like we are recruiting as many developmental prospects now that we left the MVC.
