How the f does anyone really KNOW who is in the lead at any given time?

These are 17-18 yr old kids. Anyone remember trying to pick a college? It has been awhile for me but seems like it could change by the day. I remember going back and forth a few times.

the good news here...Mr LaChance didn't commit to Vandy on his visit.

So that is 2 other schools besides the Jays that didn't get a commit during Riley's visit. Hopefully something about CU stands out to him compared to the other places he is considering.

We have a lot of great things going at CU, he would be a great addition.

Mark Miller says he's headed to East Lansing for an unofficial this weekend. Guess that Izzo is concerned that Ulis is going to pledge to Kentucky on Friday, and that they won't land Snider either. So, Mudiay to Gonzaga sent Calipari scrambling to get Ulis, which may send Izzo scrambling to sell LaChance or someone else on the Spartans. Hasn't been offered yet.

Must feel good being someone's fourth or fifth option.

I don't disagree. But, in fairness, all programs scavenge in the same way. It's just a matter of where they stand on the pecking order. Yesterday, at least one of our coaches was watching a 2014 PG we never offered, and we've certainly encouraged plenty of kids without committable CU offers to visit. Somewhat amusingly, the player we watched yesterday ended up committing to Buffalo last night (if we end up with three nights in a row where someone we watched or met with commits somewhere else several hours later, I might temporarily join some of the more pessimistic posters on here). As for the recruits, coveting a truly big name offer like Michigan State or Indiana is pretty understandable as well. Sometimes, it seems like a kid merely wants to know that an iconic coach or team wants him, before ultimately going with a school that has been in it longer or appears to be a better fit. But, sometimes the highest profile offer wins out. A few of those commitments result in that player turning into a star. But, a lot result in that player spending a large chunk of his career on the bench, which seems to suit certain guys just fine. Locally, look at a TJ Pugh or Matt Hill. They probably could have had big roles at UNL or CU, but mostly seemed happy at KU and UT (if my memory is off on those guys, someone correct me).

Anyway, maybe Izzo will talk to Gtmo in the next couple of days and the visit will be cancelled.

Yep, Snider's out (http://zagsblog.com/articles/quentin-sn ... e-tonight/), and everyone is saying Ulis is going with Coach Cal. Not helpful for us. MSU may have backup plans above their LaChance backup plan, but it's still not the best news.

UPDATE: They apparently do have such a backup plan, as Tum Tum Nairn will also be visiting this weekend. A couple of guys on 247 have already predicted Nairn as a MSU commit. That news unsurprisingly preceded the news that Minnesota, a finalist for Nairn, has now offered LaChance. Recruiting musical chairs blows. If LaChance has his heart set on playing in the Big 10, I assume that our coaches will be moving on to Bartley and whoever else they like. If not, I still think we have a fair shot with him. Interesting quote from the Peoria Irish coach retweeted by Jerry Meyer: "He gave us major buckets for last 3 years. I know he can do that. I think he would flourish at MM LEVEL! IMO. Best Luck 2 him"

Offered by Minnesota today, speculation that Minnesota might not feel good about landing "Tum Tum" and "Tum Tum" decides to visit Michigan State. Interesting now that Michigan State and Minnesota are offering both guys now.

Very frustrating part about recruiting. We have been recruiting him for well over a year, maybe 2. And now other programs start come knocking on the door because they are playing musical chairs when they arent' getting their Plan A option, Plan B option, or Plan C option.

Be a Jay Riley, a place where you have always been wanted!! And not a 3rd or 4th option on the list.

It's funny when reading some Minnesota and Michigan State replies regarding interest in LaChance and they see it as bad news cause it means their top choices are probably off the table while we on the other hand would be ecstatic if Riley was a jay.

So official visits already to CU and Vandy.

Xavier visit canceled.

Baylor visit on the 20th?

unofficial to Izzo land this weekend and new offer from Baby Pitino at Minnesota.

If that is correct he would have 2 potential official visits left to use.
