D3- Good team basketball. Decent athletes. Good skill level. NAIA with slightly better athletes and players.
JUCO- High ceiling. Very low floor. There’s really good teams with D1 athletes. There’s very bad teams with D1 athletes who don’t know how to play the game. I watched Northeast who is an average JUCO D2 team and they lost to Morningside (NAIA D2) JV in a regular season game. With JUCO, you just don’t know what you’re gonna get night in and night out.

I do think JUCO ranks have lost a lot of their ceiling due to the proliferation of prep schools that let a player reclass and make the grades while going to a basketball factory.

No idea why Hutcherson ended up in D3. He doesn't look like a D3 athlete to my eyes, and his grades were apparently \very good as he was recruited by the Ivies. Read that he was out a lot due to injuries his Soph. and Junior years though

It was reported that Austin has canceled his visit to Marquette. That leaves Creighton, Notre Dame and Illinois. I like Creighton's chances and think it comes down to either Notre Dame or Creighton. I feel he is visiting Illinois only because they were the first to contact him. My opinion is Notre Dame 50%, Creighton 40%, and Illinois 10%. I hope he chooses the Jays.
Does signing him put CU over the limit of 13? What about Jordan Scurry?

I think it’s Creighton 65% and Notre dame 35%. He cancelled his visit to Marquette right after his visit to Creighton so that’s usually a good thing!

couple notes:

- had a lot of injuries, car accident as Frosh, then broke jaw and wrist and didn't play much AAU
- Wesleyan was a "leap of faith" with a plan to "a plan to "kill it" at the DIII level and prove he belonged on a bigger stage. "

Illinois also selling him on being a guard in a 4 out, 1 in offense ""The main thing they've told me is they're a 4-out, 1-in offense and they think my skill set matches that with my playmaking ability," Hutcherson said. "They said the Big Ten is a conference with big wings, so my length will help a lot. They're excited to see how I fit in the system."
