And paying full tuition rate, according to an NCAA bylaw just pointed out by @John_Infante, a blogger who runs the website AthleticScholarships.net:

That's interesting stuff -- assuming I'm understanding that correctly (which is a big assumption), even the employee discount benefit is considered institutional aid, which would count as a scholly. So he'll be a straight-up, old school walk on. I'm sure it's the best $34K his dad will ever spend.

i'm guessing mac will make out ok.

not sure what his bonuses are for making post season - and how deep tourney run - but they might just offset that 30k.

Rob Anderson, SID, tweeted this. "Correcting bad info I put out earlier...Greg/Doug McDermott do NOT qualify for tuition remission. NCAA rule requires 5 years of employment."

An NCAA rule? Creighton requires 5 years of employment for full tuition remission too, if he really meant NCAA.

Gibbs isn't really signed. Enrolled would be more appropriate.

In an interview, Coach Mac said that GIbbs would be getting a scholarship so I think that means we are done for 2013.

He was strangely noncommittal about this being the final roster, though.

"If we're at 13 scholarship players on the first day of class, Doug will be a walk-on. Things always change, so until that time comes, we'll just hold off on that. I have the flexibility to do that, and to bring Grant back, it's certainly worth that."

Are there any question marks about who may or may not be here?

"I don't think so, but things are crazy. so I'm not going to speculate that nothing could possibly change. There's always that chance. I think our roster will stay in tact, and if that's the case, Doug will move off scholarship so that Grant can move on scholarship."
