2020 F/C Walker Kessler

Postby vivid_dude » Sun Jul 29, 2018 9:52 am

Offered by Creighton.

Five star
Top ranked forward in 2020 class, per rivals.
6’10” front court player who blocked 3.8 shots/game, while shooting 44% from three-point range.

Creighton is long shot, but the Jays offered.

I wonder who offered and thought there was a chance for us. This kid is from Georgia and I cannot ever recall CU signing a recruit from Georgia, much less a five star caliber player. It seems he will be a big get for whoever signs him, but seems like an SEC school would be a massive favorite.

Kenny Evans was from Georgia, he played during the Reed/ Baroni years.

Watching some highlight reels, his offensive game reminds me of Doug somewhat. Almost blasphemous to say, but I saw something there. I wonder if that’s a recruiting angle. Come be the next Doug (who also blocks 2 shots/game).

Grasping here, because I don’t see a path where he comes to Creighton - but I’m glad we offered. Can’t shock the world if you don’t take a swing.

Edited 9:34 EST: Nnaji (2019) also has a long list of suitors, as well as a Jays offer ( per rivals... https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/ ... naji-70315 )
We've approximately 30 2019 offers out at this point, 6 or so are PF/Ctr.

Perhaps the idea is to go big/top shelf in 2020.

We also don't know what the relationships are.

We did sign Kenny Evans in the early/mid 1980's from Milledgeville Georgia. He was a very good player recruited by Willis Reed back in the day.
