Karaban played his sophomore year at New Hampton School in New Hampton, Hampshire. His offer list includes Xavier, Georgetown, Marquette, and Providence.

Fun facts - According to the never incorrect Wikipedia, New Hampton's rival high school is Tilton School, the alma mater of one Marcus Zegarowski. Also, Karaban plays for Expressions in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, the same EYBL team that Zegarowski played for during high school.
