Thu Apr 11, 2019 3:29 pm

Jays are looking into recent Georgia State decommit 6-5 SG Jalen Windham. Windham has a good-great mid range game, was an above 40% 3Pt shooter for Indy Heat in the Nike EYBL last season and a 90+% FT shooter. Indiana and mid-major + schools also looking at

CU had an in-home visit with him today according to the high school sports reporter from the Indianapolis Star. Windham was committed to Georgia State but was released from his verbal after coach Ron Hunter left for Tulane -- lots of major programs kicking the tires on him, but it looks like Creighton is the first to pay a visit.

In-home visit must have went well: he's heading to Omaha for an official visit later this month.

Not trying to stir anything up, I'm genuinely asking. I would think an off guard is the last thing we need right now, is there going to be attrition we don't expect? Is he a RS candidate? I haven't seen a lot of other schools offer that aren't mid majors.

we have spots. fill them with dudes. I think they want some depth in the backcourt from a 2019 high school player. Whether that is Grill or Crowley or Windham, I think they take one, and a grad transfer and a sit out transfer.

Including Enaruna I'm assuming. It looks like we're recruiting like we have 4 spots open

By my count we are actively recruiting 10+ players for 3 spots, and we'll likely get involved with more as players enter the portal. We have lots of room, NEED to fill it.

How do you figure this? They are recruiting many, heck you could say they are looking to fill the whole team.

I think he's going off of the different roles/positions that we're looking at?
Enaruna, Pierce, and maybe Yeboah look to be guys we'd play as stretch 4s.
Moore, Milon, Crowley, and Windham look like guys we'd play at the wing spots.
And then the traditional transfers Notae, Tyson, Easley look like wings as well.
That's really more like 3 spots, though. Stretch 4, wing that can play immediately, and a sit-out wing.

I am surprised that we aren't hearing anything about bigs. Hopefully that means that Martin will end up staying and that Jacob is making progress. It could also be that the grad transfer big market isn't great (which it usually isn't).

Because Hilltop said they want one of the high school guards (Grill, Windham, Crowley), a grad transfer, and a sit out transfer. Plus, Enaruna who is the number 1 priority. That's 4.
