Looks like Jordan Scurry, a 6'3" guard from Massachusetts, is coming to Creighton as a preferred walk-on.

Granted, highlight videos only show the highlights, but I like players with linebacker builds that can shoot the 3!

Do players like Jordan commit to schools like Creighton for the educational aspect, or are they looking to be able to develop with a great team so they can transfer out after a year? This question isn't directed towards Jordan's particular situation, just a general question on my part.
To put another way, is it a tactic used similar to playing JUCO for a year, but instead going to a big time program?

Jordan mix tape shows he's not really an above the rim player. He has a nice stroke from three and handles the ball well. Unless he turns into a three point freak like Wragge, I don't see him in the pros. Heck, even Wragge, with an unlimited range is not in NBA D-league. I would think that playing at the collegiate level is where it's at for Jordan. I hope he stays for the education.

I was wondering this as well. It seems like a JUCO move but with the upside of a chance to fight into playing time at a major program.

That would seem incredibly stupid to me. Why pay $40,000+ to a good school for a year when your diploma will be from somewhere else? If anything you do the opposite. Go to a JUCO for a couple of cheap years then hopefully Creighton wants you as a walk-on and you get your diploma from Creighton and only pay for a couple of years. Obviously nobody knows his thoughts but I'd be fairly confident in saying he's here for the education and they gave him a chance to play basketball.
