Yeah Waitt didn’t play hurt. Sky McCune was out though. She was in street clothes, had headphones on, and didn’t even come out for set three. Just a guess but maybe a concussion???

Marquette punched their ticket to the finals after narrowly pulling out the first set (helped along by 12 set 1 kills hy Hamilton) followed by blowout set wins in 2 and 3. Marquette might not be at full strength tomorrow, all-Big East MB Hattie Bray hurt her ankle in their regular season finale and DNP tonight.

Creighton sweeps DePaul and will face Marquette for the third time this season in the Big East Tournament championship game on Saturday.

Can anyone explain how DePaul had the libero of the year over Maddy? I know Krasowski led the league in digs, but that's because opponents target her. Maddy led the league in passing %. Did anyone voting actually watch the two play?

I thought the same thing about the libero of the year. I almost think they didn’t want us to sweep the individual awards. To be fair, I have heard KBB praise DePaul’s libero during the season. But Maddy is awesome.

I don't think the coaches put much thought into it outside of digs/set leaders. I don't think passing is considered as much for awards in general- it isn't one of the selection criteria for DS/L for AA awards and for OHs it isn’t considered beyond whether they are a primary passer or not. Maddy was the best all-around libero in the league and should have been libero of the year and unanimous all-Big East IMO. Creighton's efficiency in FBSO in conference play made it harder for Creighton's defenders to pad their dig numbers.

Stanford is up 2-0 on Louisville. If they finish it out, Creighton is probably looking at no better than the 6th overall seed.

KBB now has the most BE tournament titles of any coach in league history. Kendra was BE tourney MOP which put her on the BE tournament team for the 4th time. Norah and Ava both made the team for the third time.
