Let's sum up.

Not even a month ago, you led the charge to fire Ed, and fire him NOW. In-season. You did everything but run the concession stand selling torches and pitchforks, and maybe you did that too.

Then, when Creighton announced the transition plan giving Ed one last season, you wrote "I like it. This is a respectful way of Marcus and the administration to do this and give Ed his one more year and bring in someone new". You then pimped for Hendry's kid, again.

When it turned out that Gandossy has taken a job at Minnesota, you then said, "This is why I said this needed to be done during the season with three weeks left or even at the end. Just let him go".

Then, when someone posted that Connor must not have been the head coach in waiting after all, and Ed will move on with grace and we have plenty of time to question the next hire, you responded with "I agree".

You're a human tennis ball. I know, you'll come back with "this is a message board" (your one attempt at consistency, since you say it all the time), but that doesn't explain why you keep giving weather vanes a bad name.

Marcus has replaced a baseball coach before and, that time, he promoted from within, at Holy Cross, and it looks like he made a decent hire. I guess that doesn't give us much of a clue about what he'll do now--unless he hires that guy, I suppose.

In other news, I heard an interesting factoid the other day. UConn is now 28-1 when leading by four runs or more. That "1" was a loss to Creighton. The Jays actually trailed 7-0 in that game before they came roaring back. Creighton had plenty of great moments this season--they were 7-6 against this year's tournament field--but way too many bewildering faceplants mixed in. We can probably all agree on that anyway.

He already hired two new HCs in women's soccer and softball. Now he's tasked with baseball and eventually men's basketball. By then, we will see the direction of the athletic program.

I suspect AD Blossom will be on to a bigger school before Mac decides to hang up the whistle. After the baseball hire is done, and I'm liking the names I've heard in whispers, the next potential moves in the next 2-3 years would be women's golf due to retirement and if Torres and the men's soccer program have more shaky, under-achieving seasons there could be potential change there. Volleyball and both basketball programs are on solid footing, hard to imagine any of those 3 head coaches being replaced by AD Blossom for any reason.

Agreed on this point. Unless Mac is done in the next 2-3 years, I would suspect Blossom will not be replacing him because I just don't see him here long term. Also agree that Johnny needs to right the ship to feel secure in the coming seasons.

The two names I've been told are D.Ruff and A. Sawyer. Heard there was a potential third being brought in, but that person couldn't remember the name.

Andy Sawyers? The SEMO coach? I also didn't know Darin Ruff was interested in coaching

I wouldn't hate it. He coached at a high level... But can he do more with less? It's not like there's SEC talent in the Big East.
