Jays about to finish off the sweep to move into sole possession of first place in the Big East. Jays looked a little rough to end set 1 but it has been smooth sailing otherwise.

Meanwhile, St John's (coming off an 0-2 week) won set 1 against Marquette 25-14. Marquette was dominant the rest of the way to win in 4.

Up to 4 in RPI. Need Marquette to sneak into Top 25 or Rice/Mizzou.

Going to be tough getting an overall top 4 seed but just keep winning and see how it plays out.

I'm encouraged by the fact that we actually moved up this weekend. I figured the dead weight of the BE schedule would prevent that. Of course, we did play two of the better teams on the road.

Btw, the committee also considers KPI, where we're 5th. And unlike basketball, they also consider record in last 10 matches and nonconference RPI, both of which could help us. Rob Anderson tweeted this at the end of noncon:

Fwiw, the VT poster who does bracketology said he didn't think KPI was used much for the bracket last season.

Creighton has 5 more regular season matches left against BE teams currently in the top 100 (St John's is 99th) and 7 more against teams currently with RPI >200 (GT is 201). Wish Creighton could trade the 2nd match against Butler for another against UConn lol

By the way, the committee chair this year is Marquette's Associate AD, Danielle Josetti.

Creighton's non-conference opponents had just about a perfect week. They went 21-2 with 1 of those losses being Purdue to Nebraska. There were a few comeback 5 set wins today too (TY USC, Mizzou, and K State). RPI and SoS are both back up to #3. KPI is also up to 4th (5 last week).

Kansas and K State will square off this week. Same goes for UNI and Drake.
